Cleaning & Jewellery care

Cleaning Aftercare Service

Pop in and see us at 10 Friar Street to enjoy a coffee and chat whilst we clean your jewellery using our Ultrasonic Cleaning Bath.  We enjoy having a catch up with our customers and want everyone to feel welcome.  And of course, this service is free.

While we are taking the time to make your jewellery sparkle again we can help with any jewellery care advice you might need.  Whether it is the sizing of a ring, the changing of a clasp or checking the claws on your precious engagement ring, we are here to help you.

Cleaning Your Jewellery At Home

The easiest way to clean your diamond jewellery is with good old soap and water!  Leave your diamond jewellery to soak in a mixture of washing up liquid and lukewarm water for approximately half an hour, then using a soft-bristle toothbrush, gently clean the item, making sure that you also clean behind the setting itself.  This is where most of the grime and soap deposits normally build up and stop your diamonds sparkling!  Make sure that you clean your jewellery on a work surface using a bowl of water, never over an open sink.  A loose claw could send that precious diamond down the plughole!  When finished, rinse the jewellery in a clean bowl of water and pat dry with a clean soft cloth.

Don’t keep your diamond jewellery stored in such a way that pieces can scratch each other and, as some stones can be quite porous, you should avoid immersing them in water for too long.
